Boring post
Dear readers. You already know me at this point so I'm going to tell you guys a little about Robert Swindells, the author of the book I'm supposed to read.
The book is called Ruby Tanya by the way.
Robert was born the 20th of Mars, 1939 in a town called Bradford in England. Born 1939 and still alive. Pretty awesome huh?
Anyway. He was the first of five children.
When Robert turned 15 he actually jumped off school to start working on a newspaper which can sound pretty stupid and probably is for a lot of people but not for this guy. He's a world famous author now so I wouldn't say that he failed at life.
He joined the Royal Air Force and had quite a few jobs before he started to teach.
In 1973, he published his first book When Darkness Comes. He combined writing and teaching until 1980 when he chose writing as a primary profession.
Robert Swindells first award was the Children's Book Award in 1984 but that doesn't matter to me.
The real reason why I picked this book and author is because I've read his book Stone Cold that won the Carnegie Medal in 1993. This book is the best book I've ever read and I would read the book all over again if I could. (The book is only 150 pages and I need to read 200.)
I know that this post have been boring but Erica made me write it :(
Over and out!
